AMERICAN GXT9-M Automatic Surface Mounted Hand Dryer with Stamped Steel Cover & White Epoxy Finish The EXTREMEAIR GXT Series is the American Dryer Company’s entry into the “high-speed, warm-air” classification of hand dryers and is the fastest model made by American Dryer. Furthermore, the GXT Series has recently been redesigned with at least two major improvements over the previous generation. The GXT is now equipped with a universal voltage motor. No longer is it necessary to purchase the specific model to your individual voltage requirements. The GXT can be connected to any voltage between 110V and 240V. In addition, this newly improved motor comes with a variable speed feature. A hidden control allows the owner to adjust the speed (and therefore sound and energy use) of each unit to each unique installation environment. Whether it be at a sport stadium or a library, this model can be adjusted to that application's requirements. More specific to this specific listing and Model GXT9-M, the one-piece cover is made of stamped steel and coated with white epoxy paint (one of five cover options available in the GXT Series). Two tamper resistant screws secure this heavy duty cover to the steel base, making the motor inaccessible to vandals. What makes the EXTREMEAIR GXT series unique among the field of “high-speed” competitors is the GXT’s compact design (a full 43% smaller than the largest and original high-speed dryer). But this reduction in size by no means equates to less power or greater energy usage…just the opposite. The EXTREMEAIR GXT’s patented 5/8HP motor uses a “powerful series commutated through-flow discharge vacuum motor/blower” design. At 24,000 RPM, this powerful yet extremely efficient motor can produce an air velocity of 16,000 linear feet per minute (with a sound level 83dB), drying hand 3 X faster than standard 30-second hand dryers. At maximum speed, the dry time is an amazing 10 to 12 seconds. Of course dry time is increased as the motor is adjusted to a slower speed. But even at the lowest speed setting, the motor can still produce an air velocity 10,000 linear feet per minute, while reducing sound levels to only 69 dB and power usage to a mere 800 watts. The actual run time for each usage is determined by the user. The motor and long-life heating element are activated by a microprocessor-controlled infrared sensor, and as soon as the user's hands are removed from under the unit, the drying cycle is terminated. And at an ambient temperature of 72°F, the GXT9-M heats the out-flowing air to approx. of 135°F. Mounting instructions and warranty information are included.
